We sat down with founder Nate Padgett and asked him our favorite 10 questions.
1. Where are you from and how long have you been in the Bay Area?
Nate: I'm from the Bay! I've lived here all of my life, except for 10 years from 2011 to 2021 in NYC/Brooklyn.
2. What music have you been listening to lately? Is there an album that has been on heavy rotation?
Nate: I've been listening to an eclectic playlist. Mostly Turnstile and SZA albums on rotation.
3. What made you decide to become a small business owner?
Nate: I've wanted to be an entrepreneur since I was 5 years old and visited my mom's office. She worked at a bank and managed a team. I love that they seemed like a family.
4. Are you a fan of any specific art movement?
Nate: Big fan of DIY electronics and avant garde creative technology.
5. How do you find ways to incorporate art into your life?
Nate: We host art shows at Studio 45 all the time! And try to be a resource for artists.
6. What is your favorite small business and what do you like best when you go there?
Nate: I love this place called Splitrock in Fairfax, CA. It's a bike store, restaurant, and tap room. Great vibes, great food and drink, great bike parts and accessories. It's also a gathering place for the entire town (super family friendly)
7.Have you ever worked in clay?
Nate: Never worked in clay :( But have worked in metal, wood, plastics, etc.
8. Desert Island or crowded city?
Nate: Crowded city! I love cities sooooo much. So much human potential hyper concentrated in a single place.

Nate: Odie.
10. Dark chocolate or Milk?
Nate: Dark.
